MINOT, ND (KXNET) — One local landmark is getting a major boost, all thanks to a grant aimed at growing tourism across North Dakota. The Scandinavian Heritage Association is being awarded a $110,943 Destination Development Grant from the North Dakota Department of Commerce.
Using this money, leaders said the Scandinavian Heritage Park will be seeing some updates, including a new Dala horse in the park.
Sara Coleman, the director of the Tourism and Marketing Division, said these upgrades help continue to celebrate Scandinavian culture while also boosting tourism throughout the community.
