NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - New impact fees will affect people moving into North Augusta as developments continue to rise around the city.

The impact fees were approved by city council Monday after being considered for more than two years. Mayor Briton Williams said the fees will help the city catch up with its growth.

“They’re going to put some money basically in a bucket. And that bucket is going to help us for parks and rec improvements, our sanitation, water and sewer,” Williams said.

Between parks and recreation, sanitation, water and wastewater fees, the total reaches $2,315 for residential properties with the smallest water meter size. At the largest, the fee could reach more than $90,000 for a commercial new build.
