WAYNE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - More than two weeks after a deadly hit and run on the West Virginia Turnpike, State Police arrested Anthony Hay from Huntington.

“All the help really really set this investigation apart from others that I’ve worked,” WVSP Cpl. Richard Paynter said.

Investigators found Hay in Wayne County on Monday, following the death of Jack Walter , a man from North Carolina who was killed Oct. 3 on the side of the roadway in Fayette County.

After starting the search for a commercial box truck, troopers said they spent countless hours going through video.

“We had to identify those trucks, those companies, contact the companies, wait on the video,” Paynter said. “It’s time consuming just trying to narrow it down.”
