LATAH COUNTY, Idaho -- A crash on Highway 8 in Latah County resulted in the death of thousands of fish on Thursday, according to Idaho Fish & Game.
On October 16, an Idaho Fish & Game hatchery truck was driving on Highway 8 near Bovill when the driver lost control of the truck, causing it to rollover.
Fish & Game said the driver sustained mild injuries, but no other vehicles or properties were involved.
The truck was transporting roughly 3,000 catchable-size rainbow trout to Elk Creek Reservoir. Unfortunately, all the fish on the truck died in the crash.
"Fish & Game fish managers will be adjusting stocking efforts across the Clearwater Region following this accident to ensure Elk Creek Reservoir gets stocked this fall," said Fish & Game in a statement.
