CT man admits to sexually assaulting young boy in his care

An East Hartford man has admitted to sexually assaulting a young boy in his care between 2019 and 2021.

Octavio DeJesus, 46, pleaded guilty in Hartford Superior Court on Oct. 16 to two counts of second-degree sexual assault, according to the Connecticut Division of Criminal Justice .

In February 2021, a juvenile boy told to a relative that, between May 20, 2019, and February 24, 2021, when he was between the ages of 6 and 8, he was sexually assaulted by a caregiver, identified as DeJesus, the DCF said.

The boy’s relative notified the Connecticut Department of Children and Families , who contacted the East Hartford Police Department , according to the DCJ. The boy alleged that the abuse would occur in the evening or during lunch time, while he was home for remote learning.
