In a major anti-narcotics operation, the East Khasi Hills Police, in collaboration with the District Administration, Forest Department, Excise Department, and the State Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), destroyed approximately 10 tonnes of illegally cultivated Cannabis (Ganja) spread across five hectares of land at Laitululong, Sohiong.

According to police, the multi-departmental team systematically cut down the illegally grown cannabis plants covering an entire five-hectare area. The seized Ganja was then destroyed at the site through controlled burning, ensuring complete elimination of the contraband as per established protocols.
