WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A man who pleaded no contest in connection with a deadly August 2024 hit-and-run crash that killed a Wichita man has been sentenced to prison.
Christopher Johnson was sentenced Tuesday to 19 months in prison for failure to stop at an accident resulting in death and an additional six months in jail for driving under the influence in the crash that killed Tad Doyle.
Wichita police said Doyle was riding an electric bicycle north on Hoover Road around 2 a.m. on Aug. 18, 2024, when Johnson struck him with his vehicle.
Johnson was arrested four days later.
A jury trial had been scheduled to begin Oct. 6. But Johnson entered a no contest plea during a motions hearing in September.
