DECORAH, Iowa (KCRG) - The Decorah man found guilty of killing a 15-year-old girl was sentenced to 50 years in prison Tuesday morning.
In September, a jury found 66-year-old James Bachmurski guilty of 2nd-degree murder in the death of Jade Colvin.
His lawyers filed for a retrial before the hearing, arguing that the evidence presented to the jury did not prove that Bachmurski was guilty.
The judge denied the motion. Bachmurski’s legal team plans to appeal.
