ROCKFORD, Ill. — A suspect has been arrested in an early October shooting that left a local teen dead .
Just after 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 3, Rockford Police were called to the 500 block of Locust Street for reports of shots fired. When officers arrived, they found 18-year-old William Ellis of Rockford lying on the ground near the intersection of Locust Street and N. Winnebago Street.
Ellis suffered a serious gunshot wound and was brought to a local hospital, where he died.
Rockford Police Detectives investigated the murder and identified the shooter as 22-year-old Emanuel Albert of Rockford, who had several existing warrants.
On Tuesday morning, detectives served a search warrant at a house in the 2000 block of W. Pearl Avenue. They found Albert and a loaded handgun, and Albert
