Buddy Parker, a former head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and western Pennsylvania native Marty Schottenheimer have advanced in the selection process for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2026.
Schottenheimer and Parker are among 12 candidates for the Hall of Fame in the coach category. The list will be narrowed to nine semifinalists in November. Advertisement

Schottenheimer coached three teams to the postseason. He led the Browns to two AFC championship games in the 1980s, then returned to the championship game with the Chiefs in 1993, and was named coach of the year in 2004 with the Chargers. The Canonsburg, Washington County native played football at Fort Cherry High School and the University of Pit
