VERMILION COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) -- One person was hospitalized with injuries following a crash involving a car and highway safety vehicle on I-74 in Vermilion County.

On Tuesday at approximately 12:02 p.m., Illinois State Police Troop 7 responded to I-74 westbound milepost 209 for the report of a two-unit crash involving a "crash attenuator truck" and passenger car. The accident took place just east of Oakwood in Vermilion County.

One occupant of the passenger car was transported to an area hospital with injuries as a result of this crash. The left lane was initially closed, and later reopened at approximately 12:54 p.m.

State Police told WCIA they are currently checking to see what agency the crash attenuator truck belongs to. There is no further information available at this time.
