The Honolulu Police Department has opened an attempted murder investigation after a “law enforcement officer” was shot at a barricade situation on Herbert Street in the Kapahulu area, according to a statement from HPD.
“A law enforcement officer has been shot. Please avoid the area to let emergency responders to work efficiently. We will provide updates as they become available,” read a statement from HPD.
The condition of the injured officer was not immediately available. It is not immediately clear if the injured officer is with HPD or another agency.
