COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said a man accused of two robberies during October was arrested on Tuesday morning.
Police said members of the fugitive unit found the suspect, 47-year-old Maurice Keener, at the 1100 block of Interquest Parkway, just east of I-25.
According to CSPD, Keener was wanted for one robbery that occurred on October 8 in downtown Colorado Springs.
Police said he attempted to run from detectives but was caught and taken into custody after a short chase.
A search warrant was conducted on a hotel room Keener was staying in, where police said evidence linking him to the October 8 robbery, as well as a bank robbery on Monday , was found.
Investigations into the bank robberies are ongoing.
