Today we kicked off the 4 th year of West Kentucky Star’s Teacher of the Month sponsored by Scott Walker Construction. Carlisle County Schools staff welcomed us in to present the September Teacher of the Month to Carleigh O’Neill, a second grade teacher at Carlisle County Elementary.

“Miss Carleigh” is a Carlisle native and is thrilled to be back at her own school to begin her first full year of teaching. “It’s always been home. I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else.” When asked if she was teaching at

the grade level she originally planned “yes…I have the dream grade!”

Teaching often runs in the family and we were excited that Miss Carleigh’s dad Brian, a high school teacher, could join us. He was not surprised she won the award “she’s done a really good job since she started. She’s
