CHEYENNE — A local woman has been sentenced to seven to 10 years in prison for felony voluntary manslaughter after stabbing her husband in the stomach.

On Jan. 18, Chantavia Blanche and her husband, Brian Blanche, had an altercation, which resulted in Chantavia stabbing Brian in the stomach. Four days later, Brian died as a result of his injuries.

On Monday, Laramie County District Court Judge Nathaniel Hibben sentenced Chantavia Blanche to prison, with credit for 276 days served. Hibben also ordered her to pay restitution of $4,068.50 to the Wyoming Division of Victim Services, along with various fees, which he found her unable to pay, and treatment programs.
