We’re getting a look at Ascension St. John’s new Level I Trauma Center.
Ascension St. John is one of two hospitals in Tulsa that have this designation.
Having a Level I Trauma Center at Ascension St. John means there are medical professionals on standby 24/7 to help with any injury, as well as the latest equipment and education.
ONCE 911 IS CALLED
Being treated for a traumatic injury starts with paramedics, who get to a patient and work to keep them alive on the way to the hospital.
"Trauma care in Tulsa starts from the moment the 911 call is made,” said Riley Howard, the Community and Special Events Coordinator for EMSA. “As soon as a caller is connected with our trained dispatchers, they're providing life-saving instruction."
