WXIN/WTTV – The latest imposter scam targeting Hoosiers is landing in their mailboxes.
The Office of the Inspector General for the Social Security Administration (SSA) is warning people about fake letters that appear to come from the government. The letters, identified as “certificates,” look official, using a fake letterhead from the Supreme Court of the United States of America and the forged signatures of Chief Justice John Roberts and Associate Justice Sonia Sotomayor.
Each letter is addressed to would-be victims and claims they’re a primary suspect in connection with legal proceedings and criminal charges.
