KENTUCKY. (WFIE) - As Halloween weekend creeps closer, Kentucky State Police officials want families to remember some key safety tips when celebrating the holiday.
According to a press release, officials remind drivers to watch out for more people and bicycles on the street.
They say be patient, slow down and give children lots of time to cross.
For parents and guardians, make sure your trick-or-treaters are carrying flashlights or glow sticks and try to dress children in costumes that are light-colored so drivers can see them.
For trick-or-treaters, officials say to make sure you look both ways before crossing the street.
As always, the general rule for all trick-or-treaters is to be mindful and cautious of strangers.
