A mum who has lost half her body weight has said the weight loss has opened her eyes to the world of "thin privilege."

Angelina Bonsor, 39, from Coventry once weighed more than 26 stone, but after having gastric sleeve surgery and taking Mounjaro she says she now feels people are kinder to her.

The barber and hairdresser reached her heaviest weight during the Covid pandemic, with the mother then coming in at 26 stone 4lb (167kg) as her diet consisted mainly of processed foods and takeaways.

At the time, Angelina said she thought she “could eat what she wanted” as she was already on the waiting list for gastric sleeve surgery, which she believed would “fix” her weight.
