Millions of pensioners will receive special bonus payments again this winter after missing out on them last year.

Winter Fuel Payments are being handed out to millions more pensioners from November under new qualifying rules drawn up following controversy over the scheme last year.

It means millions of people will be up to £300 better off this year.
