The shoreline at Callander’s Centennial Park looks very different these days, as the new break wall is nearing completion.
Mayor Robb Noon said, “We’re very happy with the outcome; it looks great. Especially when you see it from the water, the break wall looks good. And if it ever gets damaged or needs repair, we can easily move or replace the rock.”

The new break wall is made of stone and replaces the previous steel break wall that lined the shore of Centennial Park at 403 Main Street, Callander. The steel wall was severely damaged when a storm blew in April 2024. Pounding waves pulled out sections of the wall and fearing further erosion, council decided to fix the issue and allocated $485,000 in the budget for the work.
