BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) — The city of Bridgeport will have a new hotel after ground broke on a new Residence Inn by Marriott at Steelpointe Harbor on Wednesday.
Bridgeport Mayor Joseph Ganim, DECD Commissioner Daniel O'Keefe, Gov. Ned Lamont and other local leaders gathered for the ground breaking ceremony on Wednesday.
The new hotel will feature six stories with 142 rooms with views of Steelpointe Marina and easy access to I-95, MetroNorth and Amtrak trains and pickleball courts. • Renderings of the Residence Inn by Marriott being built in Bridgeport. • Renderings of the Residence Inn by Marriott being built in Bridgeport.
This will be the only hotel in Bridgeport since the closing of the downtown Holiday Inn in 2022.
