PORTLAND, Oregon — As the waiting game continues around whether or not President Trump can legally deploy Oregon National Guard troops to Portland, mayor Keith Wilson continues to resist the notion that those troops are needed in the Rose City.

"Our city is in the midst of a renaissance, we're not war ravaged," Wilson said on Tuesday. "What I want everybody in Portland to do is continue to peacefully protest. Let's not think about moving backwards. We're still on our toes, let's keep moving forward."
