The chairperson of the Uttarakhand State Commission for Women (USCW) Kusum Kandwal has asked the Health department to conduct a thorough investigation into the case of a woman who died after a bandage was allegedly left in her abdomen during surgery in Dehradun. She said this following the death of Jyoti Prajwal (26 years old), a resident of Lakhibagh, who had undergone a cesarean section at the Mother Care Centre (Singh Eye Hospital) in Araghar, Dalanwala. Kandwal informed that Prajwal delivered her son on January 29 and was discharged four days later. However, about ten days post-delivery, she began experiencing severe abdominal pain.
