HOLLAND, MI -- Michigan’s summer hung on for a few extra weeks, but it’s finally time to start winterizing one of the state’s most popular beaches.
Holland State Park, which typically welcomes about 2 million beachgoers annually, is closing its beach bathroom, the Department of Natural Resources announced on Oct. 22.
The bathroom building stayed open longer than usual this season but the winterization process is now beginning at one of the state’s most popular beaches and campgrounds .
The park’s vault toilets are available year round. You can find them near the exit for the main parking lot as well as one by the cabins. Visitors can utilize these facilities until the park reopens its beach building next spring.
