LUBBOCK, Texas -- In an update to our previous reporting, it appears the Executive Inn remained open for business as of October 22, weeks after signs were posted on the doors of the motel notifying tenants it was shutting down its units.

EverythingLubbock.com previously reported signs that appeared to be posted by management were left on unit doors in early October. The sign attributed the closure to recent overdoses, shootings and robberies. Tenants were told to vacate by October 7. When a journalist called the motel on October 20, they were told it was still open, and rooms were being booked on a first come, first serve basis. The Lubbock Police Department also said it appeared parts of the building were still occupied, to an extent.
