VAN ETTEN, N.Y. (WETM) — A Van Etten woman was indicted on two charges after an incident involving an apparent gun in September, according to a release from the Chemung County District Attorney's Office.
Stephanie A. Swartwood was indicted on one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a class D felony and one count of menacing in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor, the DA stated.
Swartwood's indictment stems from an incident on Sept. 18 where she is said to have pointed a weapon at someone after they were checking on her while parked in the middle of Langford Creek Road in Van Etten. Further, the DA stated that when the victim attempted to check on Swartwood and anyone else inside the vehicle, she pointed an apparent handgun at the victim and startled them.
