FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — Emergency crews are racing to reach two hikers who were struck by lightning on Humphreys Peak, near Flagstaff, on Wednesday afternoon, according to authorities.
The Coconino County Sheriff's Office said the victims are at the top of Humphreys Peak, and emergency crews are working to get to them.
An update on the conditions of the hikers is not available.
The agency stated that its helicopter is unable to take off due to adverse weather conditions.
Crews on the ground are also experiencing weather issues, including hail, when attempting to access the hikers.
