LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Over Memorial Day weekend in 2022, 7-year-old Chloe Alexander was with her family near the Little Rock Zoo when she was shot and killed.
Now, over three years later, the trial of her alleged killer has ended abruptly due to the discovery of a previously unreported police file.
Kenjata Lamare Daniels Jr., who was 18 years old at the time of the shooting, was arrested after a police chase days after the shooting.
Little Rock police determined that the shooting was an isolated incident that involved an apparent dispute between Daniels and someone else who was with Chloe.
Daniels was charged with capital murder, fleeing, and nine counts of terroristic act. He pleaded not guilty to the charges on Aug. 11, 2022, and was set to go to trial in January 2023.
