HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Students at the University of Hartford got to be in the "room where it happens" with a special guest speaker from one of Broadway's most successful musicals.

Bryan Terrell Clark, who played George Washington in "Hamilton" on Broadway beginning in 2017, was a guest speaker at the University of Hartford, leading a workshop and giving advice to aspiring Broadway stars.

"Listening is one of the biggest gifts and tool that you use in acting, but it's also the biggest tool that we need to be using right now in humanity," Clark said.

The group got to learn trust, movement and other key skills that are important in theatre.

It's safe to say that after this masterclass, these students are not "throwing away their shot."
