The mystery disappearance of a mother not heard from for a week is not being treated as suspicious but there are concerns for her health and welfare, police have confirmed.

Mum-of-three Michelle Joan Leahy, 50, was last seen on Bruce St near Stirling Hwy in Nedlands about 3.15pm on October 16, shortly after leaving a medical appointment she had travelled from Kalgoorlie to Perth for.

“There are concerns for her health,” superintendent Manus Walsh said during a public appeal for information.

“Her travel to Perth initially was to seek some medical assistance and we’re following up on (that) and also other areas.”

Walsh said there is nothing at this point to suggest “there’s a criminal element” to her disappearance, but authorities are throwing “significant” resources at trying to retur
