A Claymont man has been convicted of multiple charges in connection to an apartment complex shooting in August of last year.

According to the Delaware Department of Justice, 29-year old Michael Toombs agreed to meet 35-year old Devontre Taylor for a drug sale on the morning of August 23, 2024.

Toombs then shot and killed Taylor and fled back to his apartment where he was eventually arrested.

New Castle County Police recovered the gun used in the shooting along with hundreds of bags of fentanyl from Toombs apartment.

Toombs was found guilty by a Superior Court jury on the following charges:

Murder First Degree

Felony Murder First Degree

Robbery First Degree

Drug Dealing

Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony (4 counts)

Toombs is scheduled to be sentenced in Janu
