FULLERTON, Calif. (KTLA) Four members of the same softball team were found dead from apparent drug overdoses inside a Fullerton apartment, a friend of the teammates told Nexstar's KTLA.

Officers from the Fullerton Police Department were called to the apartment building in the 140 block of Wilshire Avenue just after 11 a.m. Tuesday.

"The Fullerton Police Department’s Communication Center received a 9-1-1 call from a male reporting that four of his friends had overdosed and were not breathing," police said in a statement.

Upon arrival, police and paramedics found four adults dead inside, authorities confirmed.

While officials did not immediately state what caused the deaths, they indicated there was no threat to the public. Preliminary information suggests all four may have died due to a
