CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - A judge has denied a motion to move the trial for the man accused of beating four people to death on a Linn County property last year.

Luke Truesdell in charged with four counts of first degree murder in the June 2024 deaths of Romondus Cooper, Keonna Ryan, Amanda Parker, and Brent Brown.

In their motion, filed October 14, Truesdell’s attorneys argued their client cannot get a fair trial in Cedar Rapids because local media outlets reported details of statements Truesdell made to investigators that a judge has ruled cannot be brought up during trial. Truesdell’s attorneys argued those statements were made before he was read his Miranda Rights.
