AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday arrested a suspect in a 2024 murder case and brought in two others in a key anti-gang operation.
Authorities arrested Damien Bell, Zayquan McNair and Kenneth Tanksley, all of Augusta.
McNair was wanted in connection with an Aug. 1, 2024, fatal drive-by shooting in front of 1965 Ellis St. that targeted a rival street gang, deputies said.
The shooting ultimately killed Argie Jones, who deputies said was innocent.
The three men’s arrests came after officers executed a search warrant around 1 p.m. Thursday at Archer Green Apartments, 3112 Damascus Road.
Investigators said they seized a gun, about 415 grams of marijuana and $5,669 in cash.
Bell was booked into the Charles B. Webster Detention Center on several off
