WAYNESBORO, Ga. (WJBF) - Two suspects have been arrested in connection a shooting that occurred at a block party in Waynesboro this month, the Burke County Sheriff's Office announced Thursday.

Police arrested Nigel Newkir and charged him with Aggravated Assault (x2), Criminal Damage to Property (x3), Reckless Conduct, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. Jakari Crawford was also arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault (x3), Criminal Damage to Property (x3), Reckless Conduct, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. Both Newkir and Crawford have been denied bond.

The sheriff's office said it has also recovered three firearms.
