HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) -GRAND ISLAND — Project Connect made its annual return on Friday, offering free services to those in need of help with homelessness, financial struggles and medical care.
Jessica Rincon, a Grand Island resident, attended to get legal aid assistance. She said she wanted to resolve a long-awaited problem and didn’t want to go anywhere else.
“We always try to talk to Access Nebraska and it’s like an hour’s wait,” Rincon said.
Jennifer Figeron from Harbor Labor said the event provides comprehensive services in one location.
“It’s a one day, one shop where they can get all they need all year around,” Figeron said.
Figeron said the Grand Island community needs these services.
“There’s a lot of homelessness, food insecurities, there’s a lot of people in need. Just the
