BOWLING GREEN, Ohio — Police in Findlay shot and killed a 90-year-old man on Wednesday who allegedly brandished a gun at officers when they responded to a call about a possible shooting at a home.

This use of deadly force by officers in northwest Ohio marks the second such incident in as many weeks. The first happened in south Toledo earlier this month , and also occurred after police said a suspect brandished a gun at officers.

"They're both tragic incidents. They're fairly typical of what police officers encounter on a daily basis across the country," said Philip Stinson, a criminal justice professor at Bowling Green State University.
