CHARLESTON, W.Va. –West Virginians will now be able to add their driver’s licenses and state IDs to their Apple Wallet on iPhone.
Governor Patrick Morrisey, the West Virginia Department of Transportation, the Division of Motor Vehicles, and state lawmakers came together Thursday afternoon to launch Digital West Virginia IDs in Apple Wallet.
Residents will be able to add their IDs seamlessly and securely and present them for verification using their iPhone or Apple Watch.
Morrisey said this is a major investment in advancing technology in the state.
“This is a technological leap forward and West Virginia becomes the twelve state in the nation to partner with Apple to bring this technology to your iPhone and Apple watch,” he said.
