LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -- Multiple communities around Mid-Michigan will receive grants from the state of Michigan to repair the roads, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced Thursday.
The grants were awarded through the Community Service Fund (CSIF) Category B program, a n MDOT stop-gap program established by the state legislature in 2018 to fund road projects in small communities. Grants range from $50,000 to $250,000 for road resurfacing, culvert replacement, pavement crack sealing, and other preservative measures.
Eaton Rapids received $250,000 to repair E Knight Street and S Center Street.
Stockbridge received $103,650 for road projects on Elizabeth Street and Center Street.
Brooklyn received $250,000 to work on Monroe Street.
