Dozens of villages and small cities in Michigan have secured grant funding for road repairs.

The 39 Community Service Infrastructure Fund (CSIF) grant recipients were announced Thursday, Oct. 23, by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

Funds can be used for road resurfacing, culvert replacement, pavement crack sealing and other preservative measures.

Grants range from $50,000 to $250,000, with 18 communities getting the maximum amount available to them. Awards can be used for up to 50% of eligible costs.

The CSIF grant program’s B category includes cities and villages with fewer than 10,000 people. Funds are administered by the state Department of Transportation (MDOT).
