Whipping Boy got serious about their craft on second album

There weren’t too many alternative Irish rock bands in the early 1990s that were singing about the view from Bono’s toilet. But Whipping Boy – with Fearghal McKee (vocals), Paul Page ­(guitar), Myles McDonnell (bass, vocals) and Colm Hassett (drums) – weren’t like many Irish rock bands of that era.

Hot Press magazine described their second album Heartworm in 1995 as one of the greatest Irish rock records of all time. Page ­recalls the making of that album’s biggest hit – We Don’t Need Nobody Else .
