Parents and staff in smaller communities across the South East Cornerstone Public School Division can be assured their local schools are stable for another year. The division's Board of Education has once again decided not to conduct any school viability reviews for the 2025-2026 school year, a move aimed at providing certainty and focus for its school communities.

“The board has again decided not to review schools for closure,” said Keith Keating, Director of Education for SECPSD. “There's no legislation that requires that a motion be made to not review schools, but the board has had the conversation and believes it's best to communicate that to those schools who may be worried.”
