GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - Halloween might be a week away, but you can score some candy this weekend and help those who are homeless.

Several local organizations are coming together for a “Trunk or Treat” fundraiser for Wise Women Gathering Place.

It starts at 8 a.m. and goes until 12 p.m. at 400 S. Washington St. in downtown Green Bay.

Wise Women Gathering Place is hosting this event to raise money for its Safe Place Parking program . It’s for people who have to sleep in their cars overnight.

The organization is at risk of running out of funding by the end of the year.

Those who use the Safe Place Parking lot are often women and children getting out of domestic violence situations or people who are trying to save up for an apartment.
