Vermont lifts statewide burn ban; drought still on though risk of wildfires is down

MONTPELIER — Town forest fire wardens can issue burn permits again, following the lifting of a statewide ban imposed several weeks ago amidst the ongoing drought.

The Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation announced Friday that the ban was lifted. It was imposed Sept. 22.
