WAUTOMA, Wis. (WFRV) - A 37-year-old man from Wautoma was sentenced for reportedly trying to abduct children at Bird Creek Park in 2024.
A release provided by the Wautoma Police Department on October 24 states that Shiloe Viau was convicted this past week, stemming from attempted child abductions on June 5, 2024.
Authorities say that Viau approached several children in Bird Creek Park and tried to leave with one child. It was also noted that Viau stated he was "going to take them to heaven."
Viau pleaded no contest to one count of attempting to abduct a child. He was sentenced to 3 years in prison and 2 years of extended supervision.
