AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Law enforcement has arrested an Amarillo woman for arson charges after a fire at an apartment complex.

Amarillo Fire Department crews responded to an apartment complex at SW 9th and South Jackson Street on Oct. 20.

Several families were displaced by the fire, and one firefighter sustained non-life threatening injuries during suppression efforts.

After an investigation, officials identified the suspect as 23-year-old Rosalee Garza.

She was arrested and booked into the Potter County Detention Center for arson of a habitation causing bodily injury.

In the state of Texas, arson involving bodily injury or death is a first-degree felony, punishable by five to 99 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.
