The Sensory Source, an Edmonton-based organization focused on providing relief to parents of autistic, neurodivergent and disabled children, is hosting their second A Day For You event, a day-long retreat focused on self-care and support between caregivers.
“What [the Sensory Source] does is we provide a day of just being taken care of for the parents,” said Jenny Jacobs, the director and founder of the Sensory Source Foundation “It’s about community and [having] more tools in the toolbox for taking care of stress.”
The event itself will include speakers, connection and free respite care so that parents are able to take the time for themselves.
The event has 100 seats, with 40 of them filled already.
