HARTFORD, Conn. (WFSB) - A 48-year-old Hartford man has been arrested after being found driving a stolen U-Haul truck.

Hartford police say officers with the Greater Hartford Regional Auto Theft Task Force were patrolling in the downtown area when they saw a stolen U-Haul truck near 109 Allyn Street.

Detectives arrested the driver, identified as 48-year-old Gary Lariviere, and recovered the stolen 2017 Ford Econoline E150.

Lariviere was charged with theft of a motor vehicle and larceny in the first degree.

“This arrest is yet another example of the GHRATTF’s ongoing commitment to combating auto theft through proactive enforcement and interagency cooperation,” police said.
