ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque Public Schools is inviting people to give their input on next year's spending plan. The district is hosting a community budget session on Monday evening from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Marie Hughes Elementary School. Superintendent Gabriella Blakey and the APS Financial Department want to hear from students, staff, and families about what the district's priorities should be.
A recent APS survey revealed that safety and security are the top priority by a wide margin. Instruction and curriculum, as well as student support and well-being, also got high marks. Roughly 5,300 people took part in that survey.
